I am honored to announce that one of my photographs in currently on exhibit at the fine art de Young Museum in San Francisco.

My work, “Nick’s at Night” was selected by the jurors to be featured in The de Young Open, a community art exhibition of Bay Area artists. More than 11,000 artworks were submitted and fewer than 900 made it to the final.
“Nick’s at Night” was photographed at Nick’s Cove at Tomales Bay in Marin County in the North Bay area of greater San Francisco. A full moon came into view over the bay at around 4:00am and awakened me from sleep while staying in a cabin near the shore. I quickly threw on a bathrobe, grabbed my camera and tripod, and set up on the deck of the cabin. I waited and waited ( a common occurrence for landscape photographers!) until the moon was positioned in my preferred location. The moonlight shimmered on the bay, a faint fog drifted over the hills on the opposite shore, and the boat shack’s party lights reflected on the the calm water below. The photograph captures the mood in this silent, still and beautiful night.
UPDATE 9/21/2020: I dropped off the photograph at the de Young Museum on Sept. 18th. The exhibition will probably open in October.
