…exploring nature with artistic intent
My fascination with the natural world led me to focus mainly on landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and travel photography, be it local or far afield. Some of my photographs present large, dramatic views that capture the grandeur of the expansive landscape. Others focus on smaller segments of the larger landscape in a more intimate and expressive way. I also enjoy photographing just about anything outdoors, such as wildlife, geological structures, and buildings.
I’ve contributed to online National Geographic publications, Getty Images, Nikon advertising, Food & Wine, Fortune and Sacramento magazines, books including National Geographic Kids Bird Guide of North America and Best Top Photographers, several newspapers, and other publications.
My photograph “Nick’s at Night” was exhibited in the “de Young Open” at the prestigious de Young Museum in San Francisco, where only 8% of entries were selected for this juried exhibition. Recently, “Antarctic Blue” and “American Dream” were selected for two separate group exhibitions at the International Photography Hall of Fame in St. Louis, Missouri.
My images have been in exhibited by various art galleries in California, New York, Vermont, Missouri and Arizona. They can also be seen locally in the Calistoga Spa & Hot Springs and Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. “Best of Show” was awarded six times for my photographs entered in Napa Valley competitions.
I was a photography instructor at the Calistoga Ranch resort until it was unfortunately lost in a wildfire. Now I offer personalized photography instruction by direct appointment.
